Dr. Wenliang Zhang is a distinguished legal scholar and practitioner specializing in international commercial litigation, arbitration, and private international law. With dual PhDs from Ghent University (Belgium) and Wuhan University (China), Dr. Zhang brings a global perspective to complex legal issues, supported by his expertise in conflict of laws, international contracts, and intellectual property.

Dr. Zhang’s academic tenure includes a professorship at Renmin University of China Law School, Peking University Law School and visiting scholar positions at leading institutions like UC Davis School of Law. As a published author, he has contributed extensively to international legal scholarship, with multiple monographs, book chapters, and articles in top-tier journals such as the Chinese Journal of International Law the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law, the Journal of International Dispute Settlement. His works often focus on the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments, interim remedies, and evolving trends in international dispute resolution.

In practice, Dr. Zhang combines his academic insight with real-world application. He has served as an arbitrator in engineering, procurement, and construction contract disputes, provided expert amicus briefs for landmark cases involving Chinese judgment enforcement abroad, and acted as a part-time lawyer handling complex cross-border legal matters.
